South Tyrol's wonderful lakes are the
perfect playground for a wide range of water activities: boating,
swimming, surfing, … The water quality
is excellent with generally very pleasant water temperatures;
mountain lakes attract hikers because of the crystal clear
water and turquoise reflections. However, the water is usually to cool
to go for a swim.
At the lakeside boat rentals, paddleboats, electro boats and dinghies
can be hired.
On a few lakes throughout South Tyrol it is possible to sail or to
windsurf, one of them being the “Kalterer”
lake. Surfing and sailing comes as a great alternative
to other activities on offer in South Tyrol.
For those who want to learn how to kite board or to improve there kiting
skills, should be heading to the “Reschen” lake,
the home of the region's only kite boarding school.
Many water parks, public swimming pools and spas in South Tyrol are
widely known for their high quality and modern facilities. Ask at your
place of accommodation regarding discounts for spas and swimming pools.
Swimming pools in South Tyrol are a synonym for relaxation, fun and well
being for children and adults alike, and swimming is not the only reason
to visit one of them. Most water parks offer many different
activities, e.g. a diversified wellness – programme, including
massages, beauty treatments and hay baths.
